Our founder, Gerard Cahill, started this company from the basement of his family home in 1953. GJ Cahill & Company began as an electrical services contractor providing installation, upgrade, and maintenance services around St. John’s, NL.
In the mid-1960s, we landed our first big contract at St. Bride’s College. The decades that followed brought tremendous growth and opportunity with the development of the mining and the offshore oil and gas industries.
More than sixty years since our first electrical installation, our people have worked on projects throughout the Americas, Caribbean, and Netherlands. We’ve expanded our business to include mechanical, piping, instrumentation, and fabrication, with offices and fabrication facilities in Atlantic and Western Canada. Today, our headquarters sit on the very same site where we landed that first big contract at St. Bride’s College, now known as The Tower Corporate Campus at Waterford Bridge Road.
